Or can we find opportunities, even in the midst of these troubling times to work together to build a stronger, more unified, and just world? Practices in faith traditions of prayer and meditation, the rising trend of mindfulness, and the continuous development of tools to connect us with one another all seem to confirm that the sea of chaos we are immersed in only increases the desire for our souls to find peace, for us to live in harmony with one another as members of one human body. So how can we transform both our inner lives and our social environment to reflect this reality? How can the diverse members of our communities come together to improve the spiritual character and social conditions of the wider communities where they live? What role can we each play in creating communities built on qualities like unity, trustworthiness, mutual support, justice, and collaboration – communities where each and every one of us has the opportunity to thrive both spiritually and materially?
